For the longest time, basically since high school, I was really self-conscious about my dental hygiene. I had braces in middle school, and like most other kids, I didn’t take care of my teeth well at the time. As a result, I experienced some staining on my teeth and have never been able to clean it off completely. Religious brushing, flossing, and mouthwash never did the job so for years, I’ve taken the next extra step. I have been a habitual user of Crest Whitestrips for years, so I was extremely excited to be able to partner with the company to use the Crest 3D White Whitestrips with Light, which you can basically find at major national retailers like Shoppers Drug Mart or Walmart.
Before
Vic and I have been engaged for a few months and like other engaged couples, it’s a topic of hot discussion for us. When will we do it, where will it be, how will we prepare for everything. As part of my own preparation, I’ve committed myself to keep going to the gym and improving my diet as well as improving my dental hygiene simultaneously. Although we’ve decided to not have the wedding until 2020, it’s best for us to try to get things done early so we don’t have to worry about them in the future! Wedding venues be damned, since I’m on someone else’s schedule to check them out. At least with the Crest 3D White Whitestrips with Light, we can do the treatments at home and not have to worry about working around a schedule.
Since the effects of the treatments last for a full 36 months after completion, it was so much easier for us to just jump into it now so we wouldn’t need to worry about it in a year or two’s time. In addition to the regular Whitestrips treatments, the light weakens the bods between stains, which makes the peroxide more effective than before without increasing any sensitivity on the enamel.
After
The treatments were really easy to apply, as you just put the strips on to the bottom and top rows of your teeth for an hour and then hold the light up to it when it’s complete. For me, it was great to use it while I was working on any photo editing (no, life does not stop!!) or more realistically, watching ball or Netflix. It was easy to just slap on for an hour and completely zone out and forget about it.
Since we’ve completed the sessions, we can go along with our wedding planning in an accurate way. First step, which might be my favourite, is our engagement dinner! Not so much the planning or stressing about what food will come out or even where to host it, but more so the celebration with both of our families coming together (and give me ALL of the food, legit…all of the food). No food will stop me from slapping on a shiny white smile post-sessions with the 3D White Whitestrips with Light.
