#MDVPHoliday19 – Toronto Roadie

In classic MDVP fashion, Vic, Mel, Dave and I decided to go on a trip to Copenhagen and Stockholm to explore the Christmas markets! We’ve each heard so much about the Christmas markets in Europe, that they’re vast and take Christmas to a whole new level. Naturally, we wanted to experience it for ourselves and see what all the fuss was about. But when we came back, we made a conscious effort to do something festive in Toronto as well. It’s easy to just chill during the holidays, but then you miss the small experiences that I’ve come to love over the years. For me, the holidays are about spending time that you really care about. Whether they’re friends or family, it’s great to be around people that you enjoy!

So the 4 of us packed up for a day trip to find a Christmas tree in the Volvo XC90! The day we chose to go on was literally the day after a big snow fall in Toronto, so we were all excited (mainly because I didn’t need to drive through a snowstorm) but it also meant that the roads would be stunning to see, and naturally, photos came out! Our genius plan was to go to Niagara on the Lake because the whole town is so beautiful to see, but little did we realize, there was ZERO snow in Niagara on the Lake. Absolutely nothing, we drove 1.5 hours there for no reason. Usually, I would’ve been cheesed because it was a Saturday morning, I drove an excessive amount for no reason, but the drive was so comfortable that I didn’t even care! We’re talking about a Bowers and Wilkins sound system that has settings to replicate the Gothenburg Concert Hall, a single stage like you’re at a concert, and a studio session to give that full surround sound.  I was so comfortable with the adaptive cruise control, that I literally just chilled while the car did all the work. I was really able to enjoy the extra time added to get to Stoufville where we finally found the tree!

After made it to Stoufville, the moment of truth finally came. We picked out a tree from Horton’s Tree Farm, Dave strapped it to the roof, and we were on the way!
