Introducing vitamins into the mix

Throughout my life, I’ve been one of those guys who just considers themselves healthy. Sure, I may have some scrapes and bruises here and there, but overall, I like to consider myself a person with a relatively clean bill of health. This was definitely the common line of thinking until a few years ago when I realized that I’m not invincible anymore. My metabolism started slowing down, my back started to hurt after working out or playing ball (not just being sore, but crippling to the point where I couldn’t walk, kind of hurting), and my immune system gradually got weaker. Long gone are the days of taking my health for granted.

I recently started taking Jamieson Vitamin D3, which helps my body absorb calcium and phosphorous. People most commonly get vitamin D through getting enough sunshine but with my working lifestyle, I know I’m lacking sunshine. Working at my computer every day, traveling and spending days inside of cars or trains, or just running errands tends to make a person lack sunshine. When we went to Portugal, I thought to myself “I should have enough sunshine, why would I need more vitamins to supplement my vitamin D?” After half a day in Lisbon, I found myself hiding away under trees, beside big buildings, and finding any type of shade I could get in the 30+ degree weather, which obviously decreases the amount of sunshine I can take in! Here’s where having Jamieson Vitamin D3 supplements came in handy, they allowed me to take in sunshine in doses as I chose to, while ensuring that I got my source of vitamin D.

It was a necessity to start the day with vitamin D supplements to ensure that I could walk around comfortably without needing to worry about catching enough sunshine. After hours and hours of hiking through the hills and castles, sometimes it’s nice to just have a seat in the shade and to take in your environment. This is exactly what happened to us when we were traveling through Sintra. After hiking up-hill nonstop to get to Quinta da Regaleira, we explored the mountain side castle and I’ll be the first to admit, I was getting a little worn down by the sunshine and the uphill walking. Needless to say, in this situation, I found myself hunting down a place to sit in the shade to recoup my energy.

Using Jamieson Vitamin D3 supplements has become a constant in my daily routine now, especially on days when I know I won’t be able to enjoy the sunshine (that’s approximately 75% of the days, but I wish I could spend everyday soaking up the sun). The supplements come in a variety of forms from regular tablets to droplets, chewables, gummies, and even sprays. This makes it easier for me to just go to any grocery story or pharmacy to purchase whatever kind of supplement I prefer (I prefer gummies because, well who doesn’t like gummies)!  Since starting to use vitamin D supplements, I feel like I’ll continue to use them going forward given the amount of health benefits that come with them. Ranging from stronger bones, to a healthier immune system, the Jamieson Vitamin D supplements have come into the rotation and are here to stay.
