Lance Stephenson’s All-Star Snub

There’s been a lot of talk about the recent selection of All-Star reserves, primarily looking at Kyle Lowry and Lance Stephenson in the East, and Anthony Davis and Gordan Dragic in the West. We’ve seen stellar games from Dragic and and Davis of the West, both continuing the best season of their careers thus far. Davis followed the snub with 6 blocks and 3 steals on Saturday night, which somehow seems normal for a typical AD night. Dragic followed the snub with a win against the best team in the East, where he led his team with 28pts on 52.4% shooting from the field.  Both of these guys have proven that they belong in the game, and there’s a high chance that one of them will be chosen for it due to Kobe Bryant’s injury. Most guesses will lean towards Davis since the weekend festivities are being held in New Orleans this year.

As for the East, Kyle Lowry has had two decent games on the road following the snub, while continuing to lead his team on the floor, like a real point guard should. As for Lance Stephenson, the colourful character who has referred to himself as Sir Lancelot in a campaign for himself to get into the All-Star game, he recorded his league-leading 4th triple double that night against the Suns. He has essentially taken over the point guard duties on one of the best teams in the league.  And on top of that, he’s just pure entertainment.  From his crazy crossovers, circus layups, and choking signs at LeBron when he was a nobody at the end of the bench, this guy has always had so much charisma and flair for the big screen. Check out his awesome poster on a referee this Saturday against Brooklyn. This is why Lance Stephenson should be in the All-Star game.
